Now that we're reaching the end of the course I'd like to remind my students of the message I've been trying to put accross. The main thing I intend to teach everyone is the value of independent learning. Almost everything is on you tube 4 u to check out!!! This is a very useful activity if you want to focus on pronunciation , rhythm and ultimately speed.

Remember you have these rhymes printed out. A good exercise progression could be identifying sound patterns such as rhyme and vowel repetition. Then, you can proceed to say the patterns aloud following the artist's flow. Finally, you can start learning some lines by heart parroting pronunciation and rhythm. Once you know a good old chunk you can use it as a kind of mantra to warm your tongue up to prepare for some real English.

Trip to the UK. These are the latest news. MANCHESTER, from the 1st to the 4th of May. It all adds up to 330 euros off taxes (half board - that means room and breakfast included). We'll depart from Málaga, but you'll have to get there by yourselves. And I remind you that those of you who are under 18 must travel accompanied by a senior. If you are interested, or you've grown interested just now, remember that tickets are now available at Viajes Sacromonte (pasaje de la avenida de la estacion).

As early as tomorrow morning tickets will be sold at the above mentioned agency. It is first come first served so make sure you're early birds.

4th year students. Those of you who contracted the spring syndrome and did not show up on Wednesday or Thursday need to know that you should deal with topic 5 during the Easter break. I have suggested in class that a good old spidergram (or any other association technique) could help you in acquiring the vocab, linguistic funtions and grammar in the chapter.


Ask yourselves questions such as these ones: Why is the topic called rituals? What characterises ritualistic behavior? What kind of rituals are covered in the topic? Do you know any other kinds of rituals? How many words about football do you know? How sophisticated is your vocabulary when it comes to talking about religions? Do you know how to show that you are angy at someone's annoying habits?

Do not forget to do some verb string exercises ( verb+ ing or verb + to infinitive) online.

Great brief dialogues which make perfect practice if you want to polish your pronunciation and intonation in real life situations.

Las terrazas, balcones y azoteas deben tener barandillas que impidan trepar a los niños. Quita de las terrazas, balcones y azoteas todo lo que les facilite subirse a lo alto. Mientras los niños sean pequeños es aconsejable colocar rejas en las ventanas para evitar caídas.
La cuna del niño debe tener barandillas fuertes y altas, y barrotes muy juntos para que el bebé no pueda meter la cabeza.

v Avoid standing on chairs or items of furniture to reach for objects instead of using a proper ladder
v Don’t allow children to stand on any items of furniture.
v Don’t allow unaccompanied children into lifts.
v Locks must be safe in order to prevent children from being able to open them.
v Window locks should be protected and out of children’s reach.
v Flat roofs, terraces and balconies should be barred so as to not letting children climb up. Remove from flat roofs, terraces and balconies any object which they might use to climb. It is advisable to bar windows in order to prevent small children from falling down.
v Cradles should have strong high bars which are close together so that children are not able to push their head between the bars.
